PROPASKIN VCI is a next-generation anticorrosive film manufactured through a 3/5-layer coextrusion process with the PROPATECH VCI additive integrated directly into the molten polyethylene mass. Coextrusion ensures greater mechanical resistance and mono-directionality of PROPATECH VCI molecules. Thanks to the mix of highly technological resins, this innovative product combines extremely high resistance to traction, breakage and perforation with extraordinary elasticity that makes it ideal for packaging products with complex and irregular shapes. Its ability to perfectly adapt to product contours offers total anticorrosive protection even in the most difficult spaces to reach.
The functional multilayer system of PROPASKIN VCI provides progressive and prolonged protection: the inner layer provides immediate protection, the intermediate layers act as a VCI molecule reservoir for long-term protection, while the outer layer acts as a protective barrier that concentrates 100% of anticorrosive effectiveness inside the packaging. This film solves the problems of wrapping difficulty for products with complex geometries, eliminates uncovered points where moisture can infiltrate, and maintains complete transparency to facilitate identification and customs procedures. Its high elasticity makes it particularly appreciated by the automotive and metallurgical industries for packaging components with articulated shapes, offering perfect adherence and uncompromising protection.

There are different types of VCI depending on metal to protect.
Anticorrosive VCI products used in the packaging are not dangerous for the health of people because VCI is a physiologically inactive substance. Any problem of eye or skin irritation have been found in people that directly worked with packagings treated with VCI. In any case, because VCI is a chimical substance, is suggested the use of gloves when in contact with the anticorrosive packaging. We also suggest to always ask for the safety data sheet to our customer care before using anticorrosive Propatech VCI products for your packagings.

Ferrous metals contain iron, for example steel, whilst non-ferrous metals do not contain iron, for example zinc, magnesium, and copper.
There are 2 types of VCI paper: double-faced paper, impregnated on both sides, or one-sided PE coated paper. This latter is active only on one side, while the other consists of a barrier film able to keep the VCI within the package.
VCI film is always active on one-side.
On both VCI paper and film the active side (to be oriented toward the metal) is easily distinguishable, as it is opposite to the printed side.
The quantity of VCI to be used in order to effectively protect goods against corrosion depends on many factors, being the most relevant: shipping time, external conditions (e.g. by sea, by land), and type of product. VCI is a volatile substance so, once the packaging is opened, it volatilize from metal in one or two hours and it will not leave resuduals.
