Impact recorders in the transformer industry

Every day, large transformers are transported with a very high incidence of damage caused by movement during transit or by shifting from the means of transport to the installation site.

The use of a simple impact recorder can warn that a problem has occurred and, most importantly, indicates when it happened. It cannot prevent damage, but it can signal it even when it is not visible, thus preventing the machinery from being installed and subsequently showing malfunctions. 

The use of impact recorders allows the engineers who design transformers to understand the weak points of the machinery, in order to refine the design where possible.
